UP NEXT! Artist Pitch Session
Friday, January 6, 1:30-3 p.m.
UP NEXT! provides presenters and producers with the chance to discover what’s in the pipeline of opportunities to present new work that is currently in development or recently completed and ready to tour! The format is simple – artists, agents and/or managers have five minutes to spark the interest of presenters and producers with a pecha kucha style presentation of slides and/or video (no longer than three minutes) followed by a moderated question and answer period (no longer than two minutes).
New Colleagues Orientation
Friday, January 6, 3-4:30 p.m.
APAP welcomes all of our new colleagues who are attending APAP|NYC for the first time. All first-time attendees are invited and encouraged to attend the New Colleagues and International Participant Orientation session. Learn to make the most of your time in NYC, whether you are a professional in the performing arts field who has never attended the conference before or someone who simply wants a refresher course.
APAP|NYC 2017 Opening Reception

Welcome to APAP|NYC! Immediately following the opening keynote speech, APAP welcomes all colleagues to the conference opening reception. Join friends and colleagues, old and new, from near and far, as we toast to the launch of a new arts year devoted to imagining to transformative power of the performing arts. Cheers to five days of business, networking, professional development and, most importantly, the performing arts! Wine and hors d'oeuvres are provided.
5 Minutes to Shine

The APAP|NYC “5 Minutes to Shine” (5MTS) competition is an opportunity to share a compelling story about you and/or your organization’s stellar idea aimed at audience development. Stories should be based upon one or more strategies identified in The Wallace Foundation publication The Road to Results: Effective Practices for Building Arts Audiences.
APAP Member Meeting
Monday, January 9, 10:30-11:45 a.m.
The APAP annual membership meeting is the formal platform for to voice your feedback, thoughts and suggestions about the Association of Performing Arts Presenters. Vote on important member issues and participate in important discussions about the future of our organization. The meeting agenda will be posted here as soon as it is available.
Annual Awards Ceremony and Luncheon
Monday, January 9, noon-1:45 p.m.
Who are the leaders you look to for innovation, knowledge and outstanding professionalism in the performing arts world? The APAP Awards Program is a long-standing tradition (and one of the most exciting APAP|NYC events!) that honors, celebrates and recognizes colleagues each year at the APAP|NYC conference. YPCA Showcase and Reception
Monday, January 9, 6-8 p.m.
The Young Performers Career Advancement Program (YPCA) supports classical musicians in the formative stages of their careers. All YPCA artists, selected through a competitive application process, will perform in front of global arts leaders, performing arts presenters, managers, record company representatives and agents.
